What is D.R.E.S.S. Syndome?

Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms Syndrome, or D.R.E.S.S. syndrome is a rare, underreported and underdiagnosed physical reaction to medication. This condition is unpredictable and can unfortunately impact anyone who takes a prescription drug. Symptoms of D.R.E.S.S. vary from case to case but common symptoms include itchiness, rashes, fever and damage to internal organs. D.R.E.S.S. attacks the body’s organs, and since the skin is the body’s largest organ, symptoms are often observed dermatologically first. Since some of D.R.E.S.S.’s initial symptoms seem similar to flu symptoms, it can be difficult for doctors to quickly identify a patient suffering from D.R.E.S.S.
